Under God opened my eyes to the tragedy and horror of the slave trade and the effects it had on the American people. Time and time again, I read accounts of ordinary people who sacrificed everything for the cause of freedom, and time and time again I found that to each individual- it was worth the price.

With every story TobyMac and Micheal Tait give insightful information, facts and memorable quotes from famous, and not-so-famous Americans that all had the same dream- freedom. This book has given me a whole new outlook on the past slave trade, and has made me realize that the slave trade is something that still goes on today.

TobyMac and Micheal Tait present all of their information with a biblical perspective, and open the eyes of their readers to not only the courage, but also the faith of the men and women presented. They give a wonderful 'behind the scenes' look at each individuals everyday life, history, and events that surrounded each story.

I strongly recommend 'Under God' for any teen who wants to get a new perspective on the history of America, and the direction we are headed. I would rate 'Under God' as a 4 1/2 star book, and I am hoping every teen will get a chance to read this awesome book.
