Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes - Arthur Doyle

Yet another entertaining mystery book by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes contains a lot of short mystery stories documented by Watson, Holmes' assistant. Any Sherlock Holmes mystery beats a Hardy Boys book all hollow. The plots keep you guessing the entire time but at the end you see the methods as plain as day. But I've never guessed a mystery, not in all the stories I read.

The book is really a collection of about twenty different stories. All of them stand alone and they're more like a group of short stories that just happened to be grouped into a book. And yet even as short stories they work very well and stand alone. (I do think, however, that The Hound of the Baskervilles is better because it is an entire novel and is better developed)

All in all, it's a short book that's great to read if you're bored. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle does make his books very interesting to read and fun to try and solve (Though I've never solved the mystery before Sherlock Holmes did). It is a short book, only about one hundred pages or so, but still very interesting. Basically, if you like any sort of action, you'll like this book.
